How we test, how we score, what we refuse to guess at, and how we fix mistakes. 18+

How we test

Reviews are based on hands-on use: multiple sessions across desktop browsers and mobile web, with characters from different genres and models from each tier. We test the specific claims that matter to users rather than listing features:

  • Does a character hold its voice past 20 messages?
  • Does memory survive across sessions, and where does it break?
  • Does switching models change the output in a way you would notice?
  • How fast do credits drain under realistic use?
  • What breaks on mobile, and what breaks at peak times?

How we score

We score on character library, model variety, content controls, privacy, and pricing clarity. We publish the sub-scores rather than hiding a single number, because a platform can be excellent at one and poor at another — CrushOn AI is a clear case of that.

Sources and attribution

  • Platform claims (features, pricing, model line-up) are labelled as such and dated. They change often.
  • Third-party scores are quoted with the source and publication date. We do not present other reviewers’ testing as our own.
  • Unverifiable claims — independent privacy audits, regional pricing, unreleased apps — are marked as unconfirmed rather than filled in with a plausible guess.

Independence and affiliate links

We are not affiliated with CrushOn AI or any competitor. Where outbound links carry affiliate parameters, they are marked rel="nofollow" and never affect a score, a ranking or whether a criticism appears. We do not accept payment for reviews, and we do not remove documented limitations at anyone’s request.

Updating content

This category changes fast. Every substantive page carries a “last updated” date, and we re-check pricing, model lists and feature availability on a quarterly cycle. If you spot something out of date, tell us via contact — we would rather correct it than be right about last quarter.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected in place, and significant corrections are noted on the page. We do not silently rewrite conclusions; if our verdict changes, we say so and explain why.

Adults-only subject matter

CrushOn AI hosts mature unfiltered content. We discuss it plainly and practically for adult readers, without explicit excerpting. All characters referenced are fictional, and nothing here is guidance about real relationships.
